McKinsey & Company I am joining the McKinsey & Company Boston office in late July and searching for housing in the meantime. If I could get some insight on the ratio of days in the office vs work from home that would be super helpful!
If I need to come into the office regularly I will try to find a place close by.

You need to answer this yourself. Do some self reflection to determine your motivation. Everyone’s answer is different. If money is your motivator, say it but give your reason why. I’m sure there is a story in there.
Experience in multiple industries and clients
Exposure to different teams
International experience and trainings
Accelerated career growth
Accelerated learning
Good compensation (yes, it is a fair reason)
There is no specific answer other than it can’t be generic/scripted.
The reason behind this question is that it won’t take long for the money motivation to disappear. You’re going to work a lot of hours and make a lot of sacrifices.
I’ll give you an example when I was younger I was not coordinated enough to play sports at an elite level but I enjoyed pushing myself to an extremely level to see what I was capable of. I discovered bodybuilding which didn’t require coordination but had the same competitive elements and the ability to see my progress. This drove me to make sacrifices that I would never make of it didn’t tick the boxes I was looking for.
When it comes to work I can’t just do a process I need to be thinking about how I can create something that nobody has thought of that will create value. I need it to be in an industry that I can relate to. I’ve never had to take lots of pharmaceuticals so when I try to think about a customer I can’t relate and I have no idea what the type of customer would think about.
