I can only add my subjective opinion: I absolutely wanted a Tesla, and have the means to buy one. I will now never ever purchase one. Ever.
Sure there'll be many who think differently, but there are also quite a lot of ppl who think, and spend, like me.
I won't be surprised if TSLA bounces back to where it was at this point TBH. If Musk could get away with openly calling someone a pedophile in 2019 (and no, I don't buy his pedo defense at all) with no evidence whatsoever and get away with it then, what can't he get away with now?
If we're talking about the Tesla brand without Elon, it's been an overrated brand since the get-go. The cars don't have the best stats and have poor quality control to most consumers. There's little reason to buy them over Toyota, Lexus, or other reliable brands other than "It's electric". Finally, there's been more delays to their features, cars, and promised releases than California high speed rail.
Yes - Tesla is no longer a car brand. The automotive competition has caught up while Tesla has shifted focus elsewhere.
Moving forward, Tesla business will come from robotics, storage/batteries and autonomous driving. I doubt they’re even focusing on cars much at all now. You can attribute falling sales to Musk - no doubt it plays a part - but more likely their vehicles are outdated now compared to the flood of other options hitting the market.
Focusing on Tesla’s vehicle sales only is completely missing the real game, but it’s low-hanging fruit that makes people feel good.
Irony .. the CA libs out Tesla on the map and now the tables have flipped. Welcome to competition Elon. Buckle up. Brace for impact. Might need to do it on your own without handouts.
