Ye bowl sirf Like lene k lie bnaya hai kya 😂
I recently joined Allstate india and my manager is forcing me to come to office twice a week. During negotiations, I had made it clear that I didn't want to work from office due to personal commitment.
Please suggest:
1. Is my understanding correct that Allstate india is currently not forcing employees to come to office and my manager is an exception?
2. How can I say no without pissing off the manager given I have just joined the company?

Yeah that’s a tricky one😊
I don't really care. They are welcome to monitor me however they want. But if they start micromanaging me or clock-watching me aggressively, I'm probably going to find another place to work. But other than that, I've got nothing to hide.

Yes that’s the thing, it’s to the extent of how they watch you. I agree, i would leave a place if it got like that as that is very toxic!
Companies are allowed to do that, of course. Whether they should is another matter. In some instances it might make sense, but in positions where the work is more involved it can create problems. If people feel like they're being pushed to rush their work it will create morale problems and will potentially help to drive employees away.

Yes there definatly is a line to not cross, you have to trust your employees but I do understand of intervening in when the trust is broken as then things aren’t as smoothly.
I think it crosses the line. If a company needs tracking software to know whether people are working, the real issue is trust and leadership, not productivity. Metrics are fine, but spying feels toxic.

Yes spying is a no no, that is toxic.
For me it is a matter of trust.

100% 😊
It depends if there's some really really important information that you work with that could possibly be misused. In terms of them making sure you're working and not browsing the Internet, that should be trusted.

Then that can lead onto breaking data protection laws…… yes I do believe employees should be trusted (obviously if that trust is broken then that is a different story).
