Depends on how old you are, if your in school, and what type of work your wanting to do. Me personally I didn’t want to do fast food, and I’m from a small town so options were limited. I started working my freshman year of highschool and I was a laborer, then added a grocery store job, few years later and graduated, now I am a lead guy at a manufacturing company and currently working on becoming a plumbing apprentice. Anxiety I’ve learned is just part of it, especially if you’re apart of the younger generations (gen z here) I feel like social situations don’t come as natural as it did for previous generations. The way I try to look at it is, if you’re anxious about it that means it is deeply important to you, not that you necessarily “fear” what is going on. If you’re still in school I would say any job would work, you don’t need to love it because it’s not going to be your career. If you’re out of school I would be thinking about what you like to do, what makes you feel a sense of worth, and how can you make those things into a job. Long term is also a big factor into it, yeah you can work at a gas station and make $20+/hr but you’ll cap out soon vs if you get a job where you start off at $18/hr but you have a way higher ceiling I would go for the later. Sorry this is a book I’m writing over here apparently lol just advice I wish I would’ve heard from someone. Any questions, holler I’ll do my best to answer them.

My first two jobs out of high school where in retail stores. This was 50 years ago when you actually assisted people with their buying decisions. I too suffered from anxiety. I felt anxious going to work, but was mostly okay after I got there. Since it was my job to approach strangers and talk to them, it really helped me to come out of my shell.
Thank you!I think once i get a job itll also help me come out of my shell.
My first job was working at an auctioneers. It was good, a bit like retail but I had to speak to less people. I think anything retail or hospitality related is a good bet, although, can be pretty intense!
