I’m seeing the same shift. Not full blown AI departments yet, but you can feel the industry trying to sprint before it learns how to walk. The hype is loud, the skills gap is real, and half the people making decisions don’t actually use the tools.
What I’m curious about is how teams plan to make sure AI work still feels human. Are you seeing quality go up or down with these new roles?
It's been creeping into everything we do lately. We don't have an AI department either, but every team is using at least one AI tool at this point. It's a wild time. I'm still leery, but I have to admit, I do enjoy messing around with it. I built a word game in a weekend with Claude in spite of not knowing anything about writing code. It's a lot of fun.
A whole lot of teams are in that “what does this mean for my job?” phase. It can help to lean into learning how to brief, critique, and integrate AI work, so you’re positioned as someone who knows how to use these tools rather than compete with them.
