I’ve worked for places that love to claim different perspectives matter, only to work under managers who punished you swiftly for ever even remotely disagreeing with them or offering a different POV.

That’s frustrating!
Not exactly, but I am encouraging the “healthy debate” mindset to resolve some underlying conflicts/tension I see at work. I am naturally a mediator and already see both sides of multiple reoccurring issues.
Having this open dialogue (including fostering psychological safety) is CRUCIAL to move FORWARD. I just don’t have the authority to make it happen more broadly at a higher level.
