No games, don’t open gifts live , no agenda. Happy couple mozies around to all tables and guests
We had one, it was laid back and got Mexican food catered. I didn’t want to open gifts in front of everyone so this allowed to be more of a day party for all ages
I had a coed shower. I did a color theme instead of like “theme theme.” We had an open bar and brunch food. A few obligatory games. It was a big hit everyone had a good time.
Farm theme
No games
No games, no theme, no presents opening. I had a joint shower with my husband and had our friends and family at a Chinese buffet. Crab legs, sushi, Mongolian bbq… everyone had a great time.
I’ve hosted several coed showers for friends, and I had a coed shower myself. I agree - no games and no set agenda. I will say, gifts were opened at all the showers. The men usually went outside or in another room if they weren’t interested.
A few theme ideas:
- baby-que (serve traditional bbq food)
- fiesta (with Mexican food)
- book themed baby shower (food can be whatever, although I did a brunch theme, and I gave away bookmarks as the party favor and asked all guests to bring their favorite baby book for the parents)
- space themed baby shower (to match the space themed nursery)
For me, the more laid back it is, the better.
We had a coed shower at our house. Pretty casual. More like a family picnic. No games or anything. We got bbq catered. It was in 2021 and we had moved to a new house in 2020 that no one had really seen so it was a combo of things happening. But we loved it. And I loved not feeling like I was just on display.
