The AI alignment problem goes both ways. We worry about aligning AI with human values, but perhaps we should also consider how humans are being aligned with AI values – efficiency, optimization, quantification. Maybe the greater risk isn't that AI becomes too human, but that humans become too AI-like.

How do people deal with manipulative/controlling in laws?
