As far as I'm aware, Porsche vehicles as a whole are very reliable, especially when they are in their warranty period.
When things do break expect service, both parts and labor to be expensive, but frequency should be fairly low as an in-warranty vehicle
Ah yes, cause someone on Fishbowl is gonna have a god damn clue how the 959 handles itself in regards to maintenance 😂
Porsche tech told me the transmissions for Macans known to be problematic with higher mileage. Came from the Audi Q5 parts bin.
I’ve had my Macan for 5 years. Kept up on the oil changes and regular service intervals. Found an independent specialist to keep costs reasonable. Buy my own parts from Suncoast. Have had to replace the front brakes (~$1100 usd including parts & labor). Other than that, no issues. Very reliable car and is still going!
To clarify, is it saying they have low maintenance costs or low maintenance frequency? Maintenance frequency should be similar to comparable cars - e.g annual oil and filter change, tire rotations, etc.
OR are you actually asking about unplanned service to address unexpected issues, breakdowns, etc? This would be a questions about the vehicle’s reliability and not about its maintenance needs.
Then yeah they’re generally more reliable than the competitive alternatives from Mercedes, Land Rover, BMW. Anecdotally, my Macan and then Cayenne did not have any issues or breakdowns in 3 years of driving. Suggest you check JD Power for reliability ratings based on a larger sample size.
