I opted to retire from my last job due to it being a toxic environment. 6 months later still unemployed. Trying, but also selling a house, helping my Dad offload his house and find myself a new home in Oregon. Things are tough out there.

Yes. I am experiencing the same thing. I am struggling to find a LOCAL class A driving job for 1 yr now. I have the perfect record. No accidents, great credit, I can pass a drug and background check, doubles, triples, hazmat even a class M. I was an owner operator and have driven over 2 million miles but all of the local jobs that are in my area {Las Vegas} want to pay $17.00 to $23.00 an hr. Even In and Out Burger pays more! This is outrageous! Sure I have dozens of companies reaching out to me but they are driving OTR. I'm already in my mid 50's never married and no children and that's because I can never have a family or a life, driving the lower 48 for many many yrs. I am know one's slave anymore.
That’s shocking! I thought it was only here in the UK that the job market was crap! But in the US also?! This is madness!!!! I’m needing to get a job ASAP as I’m going into my last year at college in August. I need a job for when I leave. I need part time for a year and then I’ll be able to do full time.
I’ve been volunteering for over a year and I worked in a care home for 2 months. Yes, not a lot of on the job experience but that’s not my problem. I wasn’t trained well. I got my pay and weekly hours reduced from the agreed contracted wage and weekly hours.
I’m totally helpless. I’m 18. Yes I don’t need a job. But all my friends are getting jobs. I want to earn my own money so I can do more things for myself. Yes, I get paid form the college but that’s only during term time. Rarely am I paid during holidays.

That sometimes happens. Doesn’t mean the right post isn’t there for you! The job market isn’t helping. Just keep looking. You’ll get something.
There is no temp jobs around near me the temp jobs are manufacturing jobs these days

There’s carer jobs everywhere. But I need it to be nearby so I can get to it myself. The one I was at for 2 months earlier this year was only a 22 walking distance away.
