There's no coming back from this, is there? I just discovered that I have a pretty embarrassing typo on my resume. The same resume I've sent to at least two dozen potential employers. I can't believe I made such a big mistake.

Give yourself grace. Just log into each employer’s portal and upload an updated resume. Problem solved. Say nice things to yourself.

Fix it and move on, that’s all you can do. If you can update those resumes that you’ve already sent out, definitely do that too. If the typo is that bad and noticeable, it really could hold you back, just to be honest.

Agreed, but totally depends on the hiring manager. I have a zero tolerance policy for typos in a resume, but not everyone does.

Dude, it happens. Are you never planning on applying again? That's the only way you can't come back from this. Fix the typo and get back out there. Those apps aren't lost because of this, by the way. It's a simple, human mistake. Do you really think your resume is going straight to the shredder because of it?

If it's past page 1 they probably never read it...lol

Unfortunately, the only thing you can do is correct your resume for future applications. If the company does give you a confirmation email, you might be able to attach a revised resume and let them know why you are sending it as you spotted a typo.

I’ve practiced litigation in DC for about 5+ years at a larger plaintiffs’ firm, and am considering a switch to a defense firm. Is there any insight to how many billable hours this would require, and how much time that would actually be? For reference, the firm has a 1900 billable hour requirement and the partner said I would have “no problem” fulfilling that based on the work they have.
