Hi fishes! My spouse is planning to go to India but we would need to get her visa stamped before coming back. I see that getting appointment is such a huge problem right now. Can we get her visa stamped from a different country? In this case, we were considering Qatar, she grew up there and has her brother there. For what it’s worth she qualifies for Dropbox in India. How do I find out if Qatar works in our case?Deloitte

Yeah, you’re getting too deep into the process without knowing if there’s a possibility of alignment. I would hope that they’re delaying because perhaps they feel your skillset and experience might push you up above the level the job is currently scoped at, so they’re possibly doing some research and approvals around it… but if that were the case, they should have told you that’s exactly why they can’t put a range in front of you at the current moment.
Yes honestly it sounds like a red flag to me. The interview process says a lot about the company culture. If transparency is something that you value this might not be the place for you.
That’s disrespectful of your boundaries. I would say something simple like you are in process at other organizations and or “I’d feel more comfortable proceeding with the hiring process once you have salary insights” especially if they have you doing a presentation!
Thanks - I am in a similar situation and it's valuable to get insights from a recruiter. My challenge with this particular Recruiter is that I am in New York State where it is required for them to give a range and she is telling me that the range would be too wide, and so she would prefer for me to just provide my desired salary.
Is it truly desperate times? If not, then please ask yourself why you're even entertaining such a thing. Remember that everything is part of the interview process. The hard truth --right now you're telling them that you can be managed into whatever they want. Better to respect yourself and your boundaries enough to not end up in an untenable situation. And if you decide to do a presentation keep it VERY high level with simple slides.
Nah that feels really shady tonme
