Seeing some posts on layoffs in barclays. Is it true and which category of Employees will fall in that list.

Only worked at my new job 60 days and I’ve had an epiphany. I will be quitting this new job in 2 weeks to move my life elsewhere. Should I feel guilty? I actually feel very relieved.

At my agency a couple of years - majority of that during covid. Nice bosses who care about their staff, but the work we are making is so safe. Our ECD is constantly out voted by the C suite and the work we get through is diluted. I don’t present routes I don’t want to make, then the planners make us work on theirs as “a safe option” spoiler: it’s bought. Do I cut my losses and try go elsewhere - even if my book is the same? Or hang in there/ keep pushing and hope I’ll slip one through?

Currently SM at Bain (4 years post MBA) and was approached for a senior associate role in portfolio ops at a large PE fund. Been told 2.5 years to VP and another 2.5 years to director. Feels like the role is a bit junior but offers a 50% pay jump.

I am a woman who has been working as a tech PE investor for 8 months now, and have been feeling extremely discouraged by my experiences in this sector so far. I regularly get mistaken as the “administrative assistant” in meetings and email chains, have had things said to me by men such as “the only way you work in private equity is as a receptionist”, and have even been at networking events where men have literally grabbed my ass when no one was looking. Any advice on how to handle this?

Had a salary discussion with headhunter, who really lowballed me and told that the employer is not going to pay more than X.
The final interview is scheduled for tomorrow should I be expecting any salary negotiation during the final interview or after or is the number that I informally agreed to with a headhunter is set in stone?
How bad is it if I refuse to accept the offer? Will I be banned from working with that headhunting firm?
