Thoughts on bringing your partner along on business trips? Esp to fun cities. Obviously not for the business part but more so for companionship and a travel buddy during non-work hours.

I do regularly and it's lots of fun. He's very supportive and it doesn't faze him if I end up too busy or drained to go out and do anything. We just like any time we get to be around each other.

On my first practice group retreat, a partner jokingly scolded me for not bringing my fiancé. She said it’s how she and her husband have gotten to see cool cities and stay in nice hotels without paying for all of it, and it’s kept her marriage strong because it shows that she isn’t prioritizing work over spending time with him

I do it all the time, I also bring my kids a lot & they hang with my spouse. I’m just that way—I show up 100% as an employee but I like my family close.

I bring my husband on mine when I can! I do get a little stressed about entertaining him if I’m jammed up/super tired, but he usually has no problem entertaining himself. My firm usually puts us up nice places so at least one of us gets to enjoy the hotel too (since he usually brings his laptop and works in the room).

If partner is good about entertaining themselves as needed, absolutely. Hubby isn’t always the best about this, so he only comes with me to places that sound interesting to him.

Is anyone else unfollowing all “influencers” on Instagram? I’m finding their posts to be so out of touch with what’s happening across the global to people’s lives (both health-wise and economy-wise.) They’re still trying to push a more is better mindset. I get that’s part of their business model, but I just can’t take it anymore.

Hi,
Need some advice. My pet had been eating his kebble food on a consistent basis. Then I introduced a bit of raw chicken into his kebble and loved having it even more. But now I'm realizing that if I don't add chicken, he just doesn't eat his regular kebble food. What should I do? (Don't want to feed chicken every day)

Any advice on a first year trying to transition from family law to in-house? I always thought family law was my path, and used to enjoy it, but it’s not the direction I want to head in anymore. I don’t think I even want to continue with any litigation work. I’m having a hard time finding firms that are hiring entry level associate positions that don’t require at least 3+ years experience in-house. Should I start at a business law firm to get experience working with corporations first?
