I have been working as an engineer for 6 years and I feel very comfortable in my profession. I feel that I have achieved a lot even though I am a woman but I focus more on my work than on my gender.

Thanks for posting! I just joined fishbowl to find other female engineers because the company I started at has no other female engineers. I’d love to have a community, join the bowl if you’re interested: https://joinfishbowl.com/bowl_8hcg6b9m36

Great idea!

It was a bit rough at the start because of a manager that kind of made me and other women on the team uncomfortable. Thankfully, he ended up getting sacked for misconduct and we've all had a pretty smooth experience here since then

Awesome! My team is fantastic and gender has never been an issue with me or any of my coworkers. I feel grateful to work at a place where we all respect each other and value our input

I have no complaints. I've been working as an engineer over 10 years and I've steadily acquired promotions over the years. I've met a few people who were kind of snarky about me being a woman but it has never escalated to anything serious

Same here, I've gotten a few weird comments occasionally but it's certainly not the norm

Internship Program Help: Hi Everyone! I’ve never worked for a company with any type of internship program at all, let alone a really successful one. My new company thrives off our internship program, with many of our managers/directors having started as one themselves. I’d like to create more of a structure to this program but not even really sure where to begin. Also don’t want to bite off more than I can chew, but would love to hear some tips or even better, maybe have a quick chat if willing?
