Hey brand side bowl! Hope it’s ok to post this brand side role here. A recruiter reached out to me for a social media strategist role at OnePlus in Dallas, however I’m not looking to move.
I told her I knew some qualified people, she gave me the Job description: https://www.linkedin.com/jobs/view/1918378739
She also said if any qualified applicants are interested they can message her directly:

Over the last 4 years, I have only done video interviews……..
Not really. I think it depends, I’ve been remote for a little over 10years. Its kinda the norm now.
Will you meet everyone eventually? Like an off-site or something
I've been hired twice since covid started, both fully virtual interviews.
The first job I didn't meet anyone in person until about 9 months in. This 2nd job I don't know when I'll meet people in person.
I think it is a reasonable thing to happen in today's society. I get hesitancy, but it happens on regular basis now.
Did you do a video interview? Typically, my hires lately don't meet in person before starting even when the role is hybrid, but they always have a video interview, which I do think helps.
I do it every day! Sometimes you learn a lot without having the halo effect be your guide
You can never get a complete understanding of a person in 2-3 meetings. Virtual or in-person interview, the company is taking a calculated risk. So is the candidate!
Virtual interviews are the norm, unless it is an on-site role, for example, food manufacturing, which can loud/ hot/ cold, etc. If it is on-site role, it is better to have the candidate come for an in-person interview, so that they can see the environment they would be working in.
If it is a desk/ office role, virtual interviews are efficient.
i’m in my 40s and I think it’s quite normal these days.
I was hired via zoom and worked for years without meeting managers in person. You have to have trust and capability that people will do there job.
I work remotely in tech, and the entire interview process for my 4 most recent employers has been 100% virtual. In the past 5 years, I’ve hired over a dozen people and interviewed 100+ candidates without a single inperson interview.
If the position is onsite, I understand having candidates come to the office, but scheduling inperson interviews for remote positions wastes everyone’s time and money. I insist on video interviews but have never had any concerns about not meeting face-to-face.
I’m in my mid 40’s and have been fully remote for the last 10 years. I was hired without any video interviews. Boss hired me based on my skill set and personality not looks. I have never seen my boss before either other than via a photo. She’s older than me. I’m getting ready to interview this week for an opening in my team and hr is setting it up via video. That’s a first time for me at this company I’ve been in for the last 10 years.
Interviews and jobs I have or had, I never met any hiring manager in person other than over Zoom. One of the jobs my boss was in a different geo location, we never met in person for the first few months I worked there.
Trust the skills and personality of the individual as that is what is required to do the job.
