Always negotiate is the only advice I can give you. It can be hard to negotiate when you have no experience to back up what you are asking for. But don't be afraid to ask for more.

As a new grad, you haven't got a lot of experience, and you haven't got a lot of leverage. However, you shouldn't settle for the first number that's offered. Say something like you were expecting more than that, or give a number that's higher. As long as you're professional and you don't come off as unserious, you may get some more money.

I would normally ask for an improvement on my current wages, but as this is your first job, just try to build rapport and be honest. If people relate to you then they are more likely to do the best they can for you within the limits of their power.

Always advocate for yourself

Would you rather have an overwhelming amount of work on your plate or barely any work at all? I’ve experienced both and I can honestly say that I’d rather have an overwhelming amount of work. If it seems like no one needs my help on anything, I just end up feeling self-conscious about the quality of my work and my reputation as a professional.

I have been in my current job for 1 year now as a booking coordinator for a logistics company. When I started I had no idea of what my workload would be, now I noticed that my coworkers took the opportunity to pass most of their job to me. I’m burned out, can barely take break and end my days totally drained and exhausted, also the same people is harassing me with questions like: “why are you working that slow?” Or the “quality of your job is questionable because…..” continue in comments

Hi All! Looking for some advice. I am a manager a country club but I do everything. I’m in charge of outside events and member events, in charge of the front of house staff, scheduling, ordering and membership sales for the club. I feel I am very underpaid at $45k. I do get commission but it’s very low ($10k give or take for the year). I work 6/7 days a week sometimes 10+ hrs/day. I’ve been researching salaries to be able to negotiate higher pay. I want to ask for $60k-is this reasonable?

I recently interviewed for VMLY & R for a senior account executive…I asked for $85k - $95k they said max they can do is $85k and that’s pushing but u looked on Glassdoor and the average is like $115k should I keep pushing for more?

Just received an offer with expected / standard salary for role but no signing or relocation bonus. They know I don’t have any other offers which is why I assume they didn’t offer any signing bonus - do I have any chance of getting one without “leverage”?

Should I Go Back and Reneg? Recently I was offered a role as a Project Implementation Manager (In Retirement Services) .The salary range for Colorado residents was 65-89K. I’m located in NY so the recruiter said he would try to get me more. Ultimately he came back at 90K which is a bit inline with that I was seeing on Glassdoor but approx looks like I may leave 10-12K on the table. I accepted already but may get an offer from another HR company in account management around 90-100K. Need advice
