I would also suggest reaching out to US qualified associates in foreign offices and seeing if they have time to do a 10 to 15 minute informational interview to learn about what they do and how they ended up abroad.
Oh but also, didn't have time to say this earlier--I sincerely hope you make it out of here or are able to be safe and happy, despite our current cultural climate. Women have benefited so much from having trans women in our community and speaking up for all of us, so it'll truly be our loss but if you can get out and have a happier life, plz do!! Where are you in U.S.? Would a move to a Blue city help? Or a Provincetown, MA type haven? I worry the U.K. could be less welcoming than the U.S. Have you considered a Nordic country where there is more gender equity? To state the obvious, I think there’s a direct connection between transphobia, homophobia, misogyny and cultures that prioritize traditional gender roles so I’d seek a country with less of that.
I’ve been debating an LLM at a law school in a foreign country-Switzerland seems to have a number of programs. Then try to network during that period into a job there for permanency.

What practice are you in? A lot of the most likely JD advantage exit options will be tied to what your background is. You’d pivot to very different options from, say, white collar defense than from real estate transactions.
Commercial litigation is tougher to have a linear path, but there should be some options.

Compliance may be a good option. Also, finding a company that does business with/has clients that are US entities in an area of law you are familiar with might be another good option.
