Had 2 hours of billable work today 💀
Thinking of leaving audit after my second busy season . My main interest in accounting was always the forensic line but got recruited for audit. Now I feel this is the best time to transition. Any advice for someone who wants to start with CPE route instead of CPA (did it a couple of time and did not pass) seeing it as a sign to go for my main interest. Also do I look for position as senior or just Associate. PwC EY KPMG Deloitte

That ain’t US GAAP
It means they too busy for your ish and you should feel honored if they show
If they’re the highest ranking person on the invite and it’s not something they NEED to attend (like say you invited the senior manager to a status meeting that the manager could just run instead), then tentative means they’ll play it by ear and show up if they have nothing better to do. If it’s critical that the person attends, then it’s rude for them to respond tentative without an explanation (like “I’m waiting on another meeting to get scheduled, I’ll know tomorrow if I can make this”). In which case, I’d just email or ping them and ask if they want you to reschedule.
No means no.
Maybe means no.
YEAAAAaaaaah means no.

Lil Jon replying to invites: “YEEEAHHH” “OKAY”
70/30 they don’t show
I usually reply to them and ask them to give me a definitive answer. Maybe/tentative is not an answer
In the words of the great Jack Johnson:
"It seems to me that maybe
It pretty much always means no"
