My kids are going to Grandma's for a few weeks. Thankfully my parents don't mind keeping the kids for a while during summer, and they have a great property that keeps them entertained and busy. Having kids at home while you're trying to work feels impossible sometimes, I definitely sympathize with you there.

I mean to have your parents around and well to take them.
Not quite a vacation, but I’m planning to take every Friday off in July and August. Going to treat it like summer Fridays from the old office days. I’ll take the kids to the pool and pretend I have it all together!
We have a lake house and will probably go there a few times throughout the summer! If you live nearby a lake that's always a great idea because I can also work from there if we stay there for a week or so. Relaxing for mom, lots of activities for kids and dad!
Lots of good ideas here. We're doing a mix this year: a long weekend at a nearby beach, plus a few museum days and local hikes to break things up. Low-key but still fun for everyone. Keeps the kids busy without totally blowing up the calendar (or the budget).
Oh honey, summer camps, and day camps and even daycare are your friend here. If you have a grandparent or other family member who doesn’t work who could occasionally take the kids to something fun even better. The more you get the kids out of the house the more work you’ll get done and less crazy you will feel. Plus all these summer activities will help prevent that summer back slide from the education. Which is good for them. Plus, you don’t want your kids lying around on electronics all summer get them up get them out.

Do you want to stay in the states or travel abroad? Asking because I saw a remote worker who did this and childcare was so cheap for the summer like $200-$550 a month that they would travel each summer and she works remotely while the kids have their camps and experiences or hang with a nanny.
