Giving a two week notice is the easy part. The real work is making sure your ducks are in a row before you submit it — especially having another role secured.

Looking back, I should have filed a formal complaint instead of taking the high road in silence.She became so frustrated that I wouldn’t engage that she sent an email saying I’d never work in consulting again. That moment taught me two things: protect yourself, and document everything. Leaving a job is simple protecting your career is the part that requires strategy.
Why do you need to do anything to address rumors / gossip? You already have a new job, just leave. Say good bye to the people you like and leave it at that, why would you bring up something someone is saying about you?
