Dear Men - Need your perspective.
What’s the average salary range for a GAS?
Hello ZSers,
I have been shortlisted for AC role and my HR discussion is scheduled next week.
1. Need some insights on the maximum and minimum ctc (fixed and variable) that can be offered for 3 yoe (all relevant) . My current ctc is 7.2 (6.5 fixed) . Tech stack - Big data and AWS developer.
2. Is there any joining bonus. If yes , what should be the ask.
Any inputs will be very helpful for me to go with my expectations to the HR. Thanks!

So far as I know, all schools in the US will be off. It's a federal holiday and it's usually observed as a day of service, so some schools may have organized activities for staff and students to give back to the community. Wouldn't be a bad idea to have more days designated for that, tbh.
Federal holidays doesn’t mean all schools are closed. A lot of schools don’t close for every federal holiday. I know that this is probably only the third year in a row. We’ve actually got MLK day off.
Yesssss!!!
Nope. What is there to gain from not having school? There aren’t lots of people traveling, and the MLK events here all happen over the weekend.
Taking the day off would be merely performative virtue signaling since we don’t have any local events to attend.
Honoring the birthday of an American hero is virtue signaling? Please elaborate. Is celebrating Thanksgiving virtue signaling too?
Correct
In service day, always.
Kids off. Staff in. Back when Michigan passed a law requiring schools starting after Labor Day (thank you, tourism boards), many districts started using it for PD. The kids are off so the holiday is recognized, but the day still counted for the state mandates.
Oh that that’s unfortunate. Do they do this for other federal holidays or just MLK day?
