1) create a designated set of interview questions for each role, sorted by competencies required for the role
2) assign one panel member to each competency to ask the prescribed questions
3) allow all panel members to ask follow up questions after the required questions are asked and answered 4) if the panel hasn’t interviewed together as a group, set aside time beforehand to meet and set the stage 5) focus on being as consistent as possible with each applicant, though follow up questions can be used to get the level of detail needed. 6) try to keep panels together for at least one full hiring phase.
This is a good question- you also don't want the panel to seem intimidating. Usually one person is the main moderator that makes sure both panel members and the candidate have chances to speak
