That is why you teach!
I totally agree. To have those students who were awful in class, come up and tell you thank you, and say they will miss you. Yep! But man, the ones who were amazing in class - they had me crying.

🤔 Class of 2024 you mean?
Goodness knows I do NOT want to live this particular school year over again. 🤬
Yes, 2024!
It really is emotional when we come to the end of the year. And it’s every year like this for me! So happy and proud of them, and really does remind me of moving on in school. Everything is so bittersweet when you see how far they all come.
I love the bonds that are formed in middle school. Those connections are long standing. One of mybstudents who graduated 22 years ago sends me life updates, calls, and messages me often. He now has 3 kiddos, and one of them has ventured into puppetry (myvhobby). So now we have another thing to talk about.
Congratulations! Always a good feeling to see the hard work teachers and students have produced.
Oh, my goodness, we had kids crying, and one girl was wailing. I am always amused when the kids who have been so hateful and disruptive to the school environment act so sad and devastated that they're leaving Middle School.
This is one of the bitter sweet moments of teaching. There are soo many hellos and goodbyes and my heart can't take it year after year!
I so agree with you. I know there are going to those students who push every button and zap every bit if our energy, but we can not forget the connections and the ones who accept and respect us.
