I have worked in the HR space for the past 9 years, however most of my experience has been in Talent Acquisition. I do want to move into a People Operations/Generalist role. I’m planning to go for a HR certificate but unsure if I should go for a PHR or SHRM. Please advise!
Can anyone recommend a certificate or course that is actually useful for developing professionals and/or reviewing performance? I don’t want/need something that is just a credential, I’m actually looking to get some formal grounding in these two topics so I can overhaul processes at my consulting firm. Thanks for your advice!!!
We are looking to re-do our company dress code to match a more gender-neutral, inclusive environment. I have some references I found online but it would be amazing if you would drop your formal HR policy dress code image below!

Does anyone here work as an independent sales consultant? Maybe handling sales leadership, enablement, rep effectiveness? Looking for possible mentor to connect with.
I’m taking the SPHR in less than 2 months and haven’t started studying for it. How difficult is it? I’ve been in HR for 20 years and have experienced ALOT in that time, although there are always employee relations scenarios that surprise me! How much do I really need to study for this? I just can’t seem to motivate myself to do it, I’m so mentally burnt out at the end of the day from a high stress HR job, the last thing I feel like doing is studying HR!
Looking for feedback on Paylocity and UKG payroll HRIS. We have 250 employees and rapidly growing company.
You’re constantly showing up for everyone else, but who’s showing up for you? I started an initiative to coach HR/people leaders because I know what it’s like to be doing all the things for everyone else with little support or focus on your own well-being, growth and development. It’s a lonely game! I’d be delighted to create the space to make you a priority. Would love to offer a free session, or simply connect: https://www.chrisrollins.me/peopleleaders.
Workday HELP! I need an amazing consultant or contact who can help us fix our workday woes. I’m not in charge of workday but I’m determined to fix it. We have massive issues with the complexity and ever changing security/permissions/workflows implemented by our system analysts. Every couple of months it changes and we all have to relearn simple tasks again. The analysts try to blame the users but I know it’s more than that.
Advice on taking and passing the SPHR exam?
Currently, I have an employee who is struggling. Missing deadlines, making false promises to clients etc. Recently, I sat in one of his development sessions with his manager, and I was shocked at how disengaged he was and how junior he actually vs what we pay him. After some further investigation, we are afraid he lied on his resume and how his experience. How do you go about a situation such as this? This is a first for me.
Need to define diverse talent metrics to create a scorecard. Challenge is that the available data is based on opting in/out of self identification, that data point can change dramatically YOY. Any recommendations on metrics and scorecard?

Interviewed with EY New York last week. Did 2 video interviews and the last one was a phone interview. Is that common? Also how long does it take before I hear back?
I’m a media strategist in SF considering a shift from media to a Comm Strategist role. Agency side. I have 3.5 years experience. I’m currently at $65k. What should I ask for in salary?
My agency instituted a raise freeze ~1 day before my yearly review (3 months ago). I was an underpaid AAE but am now 30-40% below the other AEs. I was distraught to not get the raise I really need but I respected that it was "company-wide, no exceptions." I've recently heard some *did* quietly get raises. If I was making a livable wage, I would tough it out but it really hurts to hear people at higher salaries are getting what I was denied. I feel totally taken advantage of. What do I do?
Is there any difference in the interview process between generalist role and the expert track? For instance, would the expert role require you to go through similar cases? Thank you
