I co-founded the Neurodiversity ERG at amazon and would be happy to share my learnings. It's grown to 10,000+ people now. I agree that starting by creating a communication channel (email distribution list or slack channel) is the first step. Then organize some trainings and webinars specifically for ND employees. I see a lot of companies start with ND Awareness and Education but I recommend first doing events that add value to the ND employees themselves.
Also - partnering with the accommodation and benefit team is critical!

Sometimes when I request accomodations, they tend to talk down to me and I don't like that. It's not easy.
We have a fantastic group at PA - step 1 was community building (fortnightly virtual coffee dropins and a couple of panel events involving senior stakeholders) and awareness raising - a lot of ‘what is neurodiversity?’ Presentations to senior stakeholders, entire departments and even client offsites!
Building a sense that there is a significant population - and explaining neurodivergence- was the initial battle I think. Happy to discuss 1-on-1 if you like!
