Burn out, over working, and not enough support
The only one I have in mind is the total disconnect and lack of trust between the public and the police. I mean, I can understand why, but it's really unfortunate for those of us who actually want to serve and protect.
The public's perception of the police, in my opinion, is one of the primary issues. It seems as if the public expects LEOs to cuddle and speak sweetly to the individual they are arresting despite the fact they are kicking and resisting arrest because no matter what, cops are always seen as the bad guys in the public's eyes.
Here in my area it's the fact that we're understaffed, overworked, and at the edge of burnout. It's basically a series of unfortunate events. One thing led to another.
Recruiting and retention issues, lack of support from public/politics, some recent bad caselaw/ poor police decisions making the job too restrictive to do actual police work
