I used to live/work in the heart of downtown and moved in with my SO in Arvada and still work downtown. My commute depending on the time of day i leave fluctuates between 15-30 min. Olde towne is great and gives you an option other than Denver. You have the homeless issue everywhere you go, and imo there’s significantly less homeless in Arvada than downtown.
Denver is also a city you need a car in regardless, so you can choose to take public transit if you want, but for my money’s worth I’ve found Arvada cheaper than denver with closer access to hikes/Boulder, etc.
Old Town Arvada is also a nice area.
Check out Tennyson Street between 38th and 46th
The tech center or Aurora has some nice areas
This is a joke
I’d live in Arvada and just take public transit into work for your job
Life isn’t safe. You think because one man killed another man on public transit that it makes the entire transit system unsafe? Shaky logic

Given the work locations, age, and desire for walkability, I’d recommend lohi, sunnyside, or jefferson park
I'd look at Cherry Creek, Glendale, Highlands, and Sunnyside if you want to be closer to the city. If you want to be just outside, Arvada (especially close to old town) and Lakewood are good options.
Would recommend LoHi, Cherry Creek or Capitol Hill
Sloan’s lake or Jeff park
I’m mid 30’s and Berkeley is perfect for my wife and I with our newborn. I’d suggest LoHi mid-twenties, Highlands mid 30’s and then succumb to the Central Park area when you marry that poor woman and have children that need good schools. Congrats on crushing it in mid twenties!
Dual income 200k is great. I need whatever you’re recruiting for if you think different.
I like City Park!
Sorry what do you mean by your office is in CBD?
CBD isn’t a thing bud. Welcome to Denver
East Denver is pretty legit - Chessman park, Congress Park, City Park, & Hale (9CO Area). Close enough to downtown area but without the homeless :)
Arvada actually has a super cute downtown & a lightrail that takes you into downtown Denver. Nice place to live if you want more bang for your $$.
Otherwise with her working in Arvada and you being downtown I’d look at west of downtown - highlands, west highlands, Jefferson park, sloans lake, Berkeley.
I am mid twenties and live in Sloans Lake. Love the area! Super close to great restaurants & night life, the lake is great for walking the dog & running. East to get to i70 to go to the mountains. My building is super nice (pool, gym, dog park, hot tub, rooftop with great views, etc) send me a PM if you want to know what one.
I’ve got a unit in West Wash Park that may be available early January.
1BR $2100
Includes a garage with opener.
Sloan’s lake and edgewater are great. Quiet enough but still has walkable stuff. Can easily scooter/bike to most places lohi/downtown/RiNo. Commute to Arvada shouldn’t be too bad.
