What are the salary differences between managers and associate directors? Curious how much salary is bumped up as you go from the manager level to a higher leadership role?

10-20% if staying internal, 20%+ if making an external move. General averages, but always a lot of variables that change the numbers.

Oh wow that is higher than I thought. Thanks!!

I had a few colleagues at my last firm have a bump 8-14%. And the percentage was usually based on their current salary. Some had been managers for along time and were at the peak of that pay band.

Interesting. Not as much as I thought.

Typically a 15–25% jump, but it varies a lot by company size and agency vs. in-house. Rough ballpark in marketing/advertising:

Manager: $75–95k
Associate Director: $100–125k

The catch is title inflation means some ADs are doing Director-level work at Manager-level pay. The bump looks real on paper but scope often outpaces comp.
Are you negotiating a promotion internally or evaluating an external offer at the AD level?

Yeah I figured that associate directors were getting paid over 100k. Surprised that managers don't make more than that. No I am not negotiating a promotion, just was interested in the salary difference for both of them.

Question about remote job negotiations

I'm currently interviewing for a remote role for a company based in NY.

The thing is I'm based in a different city (southern U.S.)

My question is:

When it comes time to talk compensation, should I base the market rate for the role on my city of residence or NY?

Would it make sense to ask them directly how they determine comp for NY-bases vs. other city-based employees?

Anyone have experience with this?

Recently, the CEO and my boss, the VP gave me the latitude to promote myself and "write my own" job description. I've been the Marketing Manager of this company for about 7 months. Already received 1 raise.

Much of the work in my "new" job description, I've already been doing. My currently salary is $70K. New title is Director of Communications and Systems Integration. What is a reasonable salary increase here.

I have about 7 years experience in this area.

I’m struggling at the moment to gauge how much I should be getting paid in my position as i feel I’m heavily underpaid for the work I do, which includes managing digital marketing operations across 12+ countries, manage the studio/creatives plus lead on any campaigns and strategies, etc. I’m also remote UK-based although my company is international. So what do you feel a fair UK wage would be for the role? I love my job/team but the stress isn’t worth it for me atm. Thanks in advance!
