What are your thoughts on "lunch and learn" sessions? I find them interesting and engaging, but I sometimes wonder if they take away from the opportunity to fully unplug and focus on lunch. They seem to be quite popular, both my current and previous employers have hosted a few. I'm curious how others feel about balancing learning with the need for a true break.

The ones my company offers don’t usually fall on my actual lunch hour because we have offices throughout the country, and they’re virtual so I don’t actually get a free lunch. I listen to them while working so they don’t interfere with my actual lunch.

That makes sense, listening while working is a smart way to stay in the loop without giving up your real lunch break. Too bad about the no free lunch part though!

Hey if you’re buying, I’m there. I never unplug during lunch anyway

Fair enough! If you’re already staying plugged in, might as well enjoy a free lunch and pick up something new while you're at it!

Since these are usually one-off events, I think they can be quite impactful. If it’s every week, that’s overkill lol. Also folks normally love a free meal.

Occasional sessions can be a great way to mix things up without feeling overwhelming. And yes, a free meal definitely helps boost attendance!

This sounds fun! Of course doing this too often could be uncomfortable, but quarterly would be awesome! Making it optional also can help!

Keeping it quarterly and optional strikes a great balance for sure - fun and engaging without adding pressure.

Hi Everyone,
I need your views and suggestions. I have two doubts:
1. Is it fair to leave an organisation (big brand) after a year as the environment is real toxic and there’s no career growth as well in terms of good work.
2. If I have to make a switch do I really have to target big brands only or can try for medium and small size companies too.
