What else can I do to explain to my boss ( male ) that I prefer to be called by my prefered name ( my nickname) , however, he still calls me by my legal name and told me that he doesn't like my preferred name that's why he calls me using my legal name.

It's definitely weird and disrespectful, but it's clear he's not going to stop based on the exchanges you already described - is your company big enough to have a real HR department that might be able to help you?

In stranger worlds maybe he is addressing you by your legal name because be feels that it is more professional, respectful, or calling you by a nickname is too casual. I can’t stand it when I am called “Miss <my name>” in the south, but it is a sign of respect and accepting this saves me energy and insult.
