Any word on layoffs at JPM?
Cushman & Wakefield Interested in a Sales Associate position at Cushman & Wakefield. I have experience as a government analyst for 7 years but nothing related to commercial real estate. I want to become a more competitive applicant but not sure where to start. Are there any certificates, skills, or knowledge that I should be learning in my free time?

It's nothing new. It's just something some social media influencer gave a trendy name to so people think it's something radical.
I'm going to be honest, I think the prevalence of these trends and how social media acts like it's "taking back power" is just causing more distance between socioeconomic groups. There's a certain level of privilege someone has if they can hold a job that pays a good salary where you don't need to be physically or mentally active or stimulated while working minimum hours but getting the same salary regardless. I'm all for a work/life balance, but the way these "trends" are discussed leaves a bad taste in my mouth and reminds me a lot of people who call themselves feminist, but only as long as feminism helps people just like them and not "the others".
100% agree. I fully support white collar professionals setting appropriate boundaries at work. But we tend forget that most workers DO NOT have that option.
The "lazy girl job" is two-fold that doesn't literally mean lazy, but as Slalom said, taking back your power. Its a concept that as a employee, we can find ourselves investing so much of our energy to a company that in the end, we don't take the time to consider if we are even being compensated appropriately, the flexibility available to us, the health and wellness of ourselves, and all other things that create a positive work experience.
It's about creating a balance for yourself within the workplace where you take your career and wellbeing back into your own hands, and not allow a company or personnel to burn you out or let you feel less than. So you go about your role based on scope and ensure for yourself that your own wellbeing stays in tact throughout your tenure with an employer, or any employer for the "lazy girl job" matter.
So to put it simply, it's about human decency--holding your employer accountable in treating you the way that they should already be treating you rather than giving them the upper hand to treat you without regard to human decency. It's a mental perspective that anyone can create/initiate for themselves. It's just based on how you view yourself as an employee and what you're willing to allow to take place with you within a company.
Dropping this to easy the 'lazy girl' guilt. https://www.businessinsider.com/google-employee-says-he-works-one-hour-days-fortune-2023-8?amp

Ideal scenario. I think a lot of them just want to slide under the radar
What does lazy girl job mean ?
Absolutely support it. I’m tired of working and giving maximum effort for minimal pay and barely getting by. I’ve started ‘acting my wage’ and will not stay past 5. I would love one of those glorified ‘Lazy girl jobs.’

Maybe for certain points of my life, this would’ve been ideal. But I’m too ambitious and want to make a big difference where I work. Depends where and when in your life you want to make an impact. Some people do not find that fulfillment at work just like I don’t at home. 👍
I would love a Lazy girl job
I simply can’t find such a role in my field. But I wouldn’t be interested anyway, the best part of my job is being creative
I think a lot of jobs are lazy people jobs but no one admits to it. I don’t think I’ve held a single job in 5 years of working that was actually busy the full 40 hours a week. With the advancement in technology we weren’t supposed to have to keep working 40 hours. Tech is making up for the hours I’m not working
Please hire me! Lol At PepsiCo it is a 80 hours week job. They exploit us.
Anyone have any recommendations for specific lazy girl jobs?
MD exactly this. Not to mention with a bachelors and needing stimulation, I landed one of these jobs then was given an impossible workload when it was seen what I could do. Now doing the role of a manager for entry level pay 🙄
In this economy lazy girl job might be remote or one hybrid & one remote. Def easy to do as a freelancer
I’ve never heard of this

1) What is lazy girl jobs? 2) Why the lazy word in the term? 3) Is there a lazy boy term out there? 4) there is nothing lazy about stick to boundaries and do what you are paid for, nothing more.
There is no hate here. This is a challenging question only, for whoever uses the term.
I had one of the jobs on the list for a bit. Here’s my two cents. I worked with a team that believed they still had to clock exactly 40 hours minimum every week or else they weren’t doing what they were paid for. Now I approached it as for an average week I got my stuff done then logged out. Now I manage a couple people and am trying to get them to understand if it’s Friday at 2:30 but your work is done for the week? Either train or log off. I don’t work to push myself too hard.
I would love to have one of these kind of jobs. Especially with me being a single mom that is driving my kids to work or school and being more involved in their lives. I see it as a work life balance and better for mental health. Though I am currently seeking work.
I have had 3 lazy girl jobs, including where I am right now. In all cases, I was gradually given more work over time until I was in fact doing my manager’s role and making the same pay. I would state that I wish to progress to be met with: “you still need more growth.” I am wondering if for these jobs to work, you need to leave after one year or however long it takes the company to realize you are responsible.

Not a fan. Proverbs 13:4 – “The soul of the lazy man desires, and has nothing; but the soul of the diligent shall be made rich.” The lazy man desires what hard working people want: house, food, vacations, money for college and retirement. But the lazy man's desires remain unsatisfied, while the diligent gain wealth. So once again… Not a fan.
