Is HARMAN really recruiting for permanent remote roles? Would they ask us to come to office after sometime? I am a bachelor woman supporting my sickly parents and can't move them out of city. And my city don't have harman office. HR did mention permanent remote, still want to confirm as I've heard many cases people were called back across different product based companies. The industry matters - a VP in investment banking is equivalent to a manager in tech/consulting.
Principal Strategy in an MBB or Big 4 ??
And is the Sr Director Strategy in a Fortune 500 or a mid sized firm?

Not really. Size of company is a factor with titling and Director vs VP makes a big difference. Principal will require some explaining (if you're talking about industry). For consulting exits, might be different

Depends on size of company. Also, as others have mentioned the industry.
In tech, principal is usually an IC role and senior director a people lead role.
Has nothing to do with the size of the company. Has everything to do with the company’s internal titles. There’s no standardization across firms
SPM1 is absolutely correct about title inflation. I have friends who are “VPs” and “Directors” at small companies or non-profits making <$100k.
Most large recruiters would see through that and obviously not offer them VP jobs paying $300-400k just because they had fancier titles at a 20-person company.
