What is a good salary for a director in NY?
Hey! Any Google folks know if it’s possible to negotiate fully remote if a contract role is hybrid? Personally, I don’t want to relocate and go to the office on a contract role given the current economy. Plus, I’m assuming contractors are the first to go in layoffs. I just think it’s a fair trade off if I’d be allowed to work fully remote. I’m also trying to have flexibility to manage my Airbnb business in a different country. Same time zone as the home office if I’d travel weeks at a time.

I probably wouldn't go more than 48 hours, personally. While I agree that it seems like a really short amount of time, you should go into the negotiation process with an idea of what you want in mind so that you can make a quick decision.

Agreed - thank you!
I was thinking 3-5 days, but it’s been a bit since I’ve had an offer to consider. I think as long as it isn’t exceedingly long and you are in touch with them, giving a timeline, you should have more than 24 hours.

Thank you!! Appreciate it
Feel like 1-2 or maybe 3 days should be sufficient time to make a decision. I would discuss with my spouse to make sure we are aligned with career growth and goals, which would happen the night of the offer and than maybe a day to marinade in it and provide a decision. It shouldn’t take longer than that to know if you want to accept, negotiate, or decline the offer.

That makes total sense - agreed!
I think it depends on the company. I have been given a week before when I asked for it. I think they want an answer as soon as possible but are willing to give you time to decide.
