What percentage of a job description do you think someone should meet to apply for an open role? I usually try to meet at least 75% of the qualifications before I apply, but lately I feel like I’m running out of roles to even apply to. Am I limiting myself with my 75% rule?

Hiring managers and recruiters pick and choose who has to meet all the requirements and who gets to meet only 50% or less. It's not the same for everyone- I would just apply even if its only some requirements you meet

I guess you’re right it can’t hurt to apply. Maybe I can adjust my viewpoint to be meets 50% or more of requirements.

For sure. I think if you meet even 50%, go for it, and also make sure to exaggerate your other skills. Sometimes hiring managers prefer to hire someone who wants to learn something in the role. I know that’s the case for the role im in now, as people more experienced than me applied. You don’t really have anything to lose!

I work as a Business Development Manager at a sports club.. I’ve been given a couple of months “trial” in the 6 figure and above sales in which I don’t see going back to my other role on lower sales. This was a somewhat good move for me until I consider missing out on commission each month that was more than my salary. (£25k salary, over £2k per month commission)
How do I go about raising this concern? I believe I should be paid more now and at least change my job title?
