I echo this! Seeing women in leadership is huge for me
Rising Star
Completely agree—seeing women in leadership roles feels like proof that growth paths exist and aren’t just lip service. It changes the whole dynamic.
Being transparent and professional from the very start of the process shows a lot to me about what the company values. I’ve had interviewers who missed times or were late. Might be a one-off situation, but it doesn’t make me very confident about what I’m walking into.

Yes—transparency and professionalism in the hiring process are such strong indicators. If they can’t show respect at the very first step, it’s hard to believe things will magically improve once you’re inside.
Seeking a technical environment with a lot of women in it would be a green flag. I’ve never come across this. But it’s a beautiful dream .

I hear you—it’s unfortunately still rare. But I’ve seen it in a few places, and it really does make a difference in the environment. Hopefully it becomes less of a dream and more of a standard.

Love this question—green flags are just as important as spotting red ones. I also look for diversity on technical teams and in leadership, because it says a lot about how intentional the company is about inclusion.
In my field, seeing ANY woman in leadership is a good sign. In 12 years and 5 companies, I've seen two in the c-suite, and a couple a step down. What I do find delightful is a company that understands how to balance a remote-first workplace. Too many companies equate remote-first to 360 days of isolation with a 3-day party fest each year (2 days for travel of course). But lately I've come across a few companies that offer a self-managed travel budget for in-person collaboration and find this a fantastic solution for both the individual and the company. It tells me they understand how to be flexible and support their teams for success.
