Passive CD. In the old days the CD would have said “”looks like we’re working this weekend.”
What the CD means: “Hey, I’d keep thinking if I were you, but it’s your career. Suit yourself.”
Most of the work we do is fake
What I hear from this thread: I can tell who is Gen Z continuously whining about having to work past five, and who will actually have a career in a profession they are passionate about
Okay, but you can’t tell an employee “keep thinking, it’ll be good for the industry.” Especially when you and I both know most of the material rewards will not go to them.
I think we’re stuck between stations, honestly. Great work used to mean fame, perks, a job at a fun agency. Now, the best thing you can hope for is free time.
So when Gen Z opts out, I sorta get it.
