Hi fishes good morning. I joined CapG on 26th may 2021 as a Associate consultant.  Till this date i got appraisal as well as promotion also.
But this is not sufficient  for a 5 year experience Data Engineer. So i resigned on 12 th june 2022. My current CTC is 9 lpa and i asked them 15lpa for retain. Why do Big 4 firms interview you for a specific position level and then try to make you come in below that level...

That would be a lateral move for me in terms of level which be okay if at least it was a good pay increase but Their quoted pay range for the lower level would make it almost a lateral move financially too..

Just got rejected by an opportunity that I was really excited for / aligned perfectly with my interests and skillset. Pretty bummed by it :( How do you all self-motivate after these kind of rejections?

Early in the process with dream exit companies(A), closer to an offer with another company(B). (B) would be an alright progression and ~35% increase, but less than expected from (A) and also might not be the best long term career move. Assuming the offer from (B) comes through, and before I could reasonably delay to get to the offer stage with (A) should I decline, and if so any tips on how to not be a jerk. Leaning towards waiting for (A) but want to make sure I'm not being foolish.
