Hi all! I’m looking to connect with folks who either work at Coinbase or have interviewed recently for the Business Operations and Strategy Manager or similar role. I am looking to schedule my first interview which I believe is a consulting style case. So any details you can provide, I am all ears. The next interview will be a presentation. Again if you have any experience/advice on this, I’m ready to listen.
Thanks in advance! Help me escape Deloitte pleaseeee. I want this job sooo much!

After submitting my resume for the Global Finance and Business Management full time position at JP Morgan (my dream job!), I got a HireVue invite the next day! However, I completed it 9 days ago and still have no response....
When do we get a response in average, and after how much time does it mean I probably am not getting an offer to continue?
Thanks!

Learned how to approach new people and start a conversation, after working at a clothing store in college. This used to cause a bit of anxiety before I got the hang of it.
May not be a big deal for extroverts, but it took me some practice

I relate to this a lot. I used to work in a bar in college, and it definitely forced me to get more comfortable talking to strangers. It seems simple, but those small interactions really do build confidence over time.
Playing poker has given me strong people reading skills

That’s actually a great one. Poker teaches people to pay attention to patterns, timing, confidence, and what people don’t say. Those skills definitely carry over into meetings, negotiations, and interviews.
Volunteering with kids sports. Talking crazed parents down when they don’t feel like their kiddo got enough play time, has made be far better at negotiating in hostile sales environments.

That’s such a good one. I feel like calming down emotional parents is probably harder than most workplace negotiations.
Therapy
Most of all therapy help me to restore the emotional buffer that I used to have. As a result, I'm less stressed starting out each day so I have a greater ability to deal with new surprises, challenges, etc.
Indirectly, though, therapy helped me to realize that everything doesn't have to be on my shoulders. I recently came into a lot more work and not only have I been able to deal with the added stress but I assessed the work that my team was doing and made a plan to realign the work, giving me extra capacity.
Pro
I think meeting new people and getting to know them. It’s helped me a ton networking within my company and asking good questions that they are excited to answer.
Good point!
I’ve tried to interact with strangers more than i used to so I can improve my small talk skills. I’ve been able to apply this at work and build solid relationships
