What's something about your job that the general public either doesn't know or doesn't understand? For example I work in my hospital's Sleep Disorders Center and most people don't even know this entire career path exists. Some still to this day insist it isn't real and only exists as a way for doctors to get more money out of you, even though untreated sleep apnea can cause everything from excessive daytime sleepiness to high blood pressure to stroke and heart attacks.

Has anyone left healthcare and is now really happy? I’m an MSN, RN with 12 years hospital experience. I’m burned out and tired of making crap pay. I have an opportunity outside of healthcare that would pay more and challenge me in new ways that I haven’t experienced before. It’s a total shift that would really heal my work-life balance, job satisfaction and budget. My only fear is that I would not be using the license and degree that I worked so hard for.
