Started going to therapy early 2020 and had a few sessions where I really felt like I made a breakthrough and left feeling like I was on cloud 9 after every session. I stopped going (it was the through school and I graduated/covid happened) but recently started again with a new therapist. Based in the Bay Area and have 3.5 yr exp in IT Audit mostly SOX with a little SOC exp (ex big 4, couple of regionals) and have been applying to industry (mostly tech companies) since May. made it to final interviews only to find out hiring freezes were in effect or they went with a LCOL candidate.Would like to exit to a GRC role or a mixed role thats 50% sox, 50% varied projects, or a SOX role if the team culture is good. No luck getting in non sox work at current firm.

There is an opportunity that I’m currently interviewing for that is very interesting to me. I’m interviewing two other places but I’m not responding to LinkedIn emails for other positions. The tech job pays 15k more, but from what I can see will be a cluster and super long hours (has EU stakeholders). Maybe a pipe dream, but I want to have a "somewhat" decent wlb while still growing my career toward strategy and finance.

I’m not from an English speaking country but I am watching a tv show and businessmen walk into a room and instead of greeting eachother, everyone says each person’s first name in lieu of hi, however in my experience working in the states, I haven’t seen anyone do this, it’s always hi or good afternoon or some other greeting first THEN they say their first name. is it also appropriate to omit the greeting?

For B4 - For teams with temp (contractor) seniors - I’ve noted that they are held to the same work quality standards of normal full time seniors, while not getting any of the senior trainings or perks that would go with that perm role (just some basic survivals trainings at best), nor the access to the perm positions once they prove they can do the job. Then heard they are viewed as little higher than outsource teams (i.e., the offshore teams only given non-judgmental work). What’s your opinion?
