When I first lost my job I started applying to the positions I thought I deserved. Now after 3 months I’m applying to anything that I might remotely be qualified for. Does anyone else feel like they are going to have to settle for what you can get?

I managed to score a 1099 independent contractor job. It gives me flexibility to set my own schedule each month. It doesn't pay enough to be permanent nor offer any benefits. But at least it's money coming in until something finally hits. But I also feel I'm going to have to take a massive pay cut just to get health insurance.

Visiting New York next week and have a reservation at the sushi counter for lunch at Nakasawa. How rude will it be if I started working at the counter? I’m doing everything in my power to close a deal the day before but it ain’t looking good…
Normally, I wouldn’t have issues working in a restaurant, but I feel like in this setting it may be really disrespectful the chef.
And yes, I only want to eat at the sushi counter for a full omakase experience.
