When you hear someone say they are a digital transformation leader or do digital transformation, what does that really mean? I have yet to come across a common definition of what it means. Anyone else just as confused? Is this just an umbrella term for anything digital?

Dear <insert potential customer>,

You don't know what digital transformation is? Perfect! You are lucky I am here with the answers.

First of all, it's different for every company. If you can scrounge up a few tens of millions of dollars I would be more than happy to help you determine what it means for your company.

You'll need to act quickly. This is critical if not existential for the future survival of your company -- and all your competitors are already doing it.

Best,

your Digital Transformation Expert

Lots of companies operate on paper so we help them digitalize their processes (p2p, o2c, r2r, etc.). It comes with lots of other packages like ERP, RPAs, workforce transformation, analytics, AI, etc.

Ditto to what FA1 said!

They're too busy, well, you know, digitally transforming. 😂

I have to say, I’m surprised at the lack of response on this. I guess it reinforces that it’s an overused term and no one really knows what it actually means.

The term is very broad, and has a lot of overlap with digital and IT in general. But digital transformation really can mean something different for various companies as long as we are working on helping the client execute their digital-focused goals. Could be rebranding, rolling out something on mobile, updating their internal tech, or their customer journeys, consolidating systems from purchased companies, agile implementation, or the newest buzzword: cloud transformation

I’ve worked on several projects (prior to AP) where the transformation was nearly invisible to the consumer but saved millions for the client just because they were able to consolidate old systems to finally leave their legacy servers behind for something more efficient and a more powerful database/tools that allowed them to use the same data they were already collecting in a more productive way.

It means they failed investment banking or strategy consulting interviews and are now fighting project to project finding random IT projects, and rebranding themselves every so soften for the most “digital” sounding term

It’s helping clients automate processes that are done in the physical world to save money in the digital world

Currently awaiting an offer for a new sales role. Salary somewhere between 100-120, OTE 160-200 depending on base. I intend to ask about annual merit increases and what they have been previously, but was wondering if anyone had ever negotiated an annual increase based on inflation in addition to any performance based merit increases. Seems like a smart way to protect myself while times are so volatile and not get stuck with the typical 3% when inflation is 8+. Thoughts?

Even without LinkedIn, I see a lot of people younger than me in much better roles. They started off with relevant jobs right out of college. I’m constantly comparing myself to others who are younger than me.
