So much in flux right now. PWC is trying to build the powerhouse. EY has built a solid reputation, especially in assurance, risk, audit, and much more. McKinsey is great if you have the chops and are in strategy. ERM has a deep bench of clients, work, and staff but typically don’t pay enough to compete on comp with MBB or the big 4, but may allow better balance. TBD on how the KKR connection and leadership/culture will pan out. There’s huge risk of over investment in partner/principal level folks to build the ESG practice right now as there may not be enough client fees to support all that growth in supply across so many firms so fast. Those that can truly Offer some best practice specialty areas where there true leaders - or at least on par with them - or offer a high quality suite of services at a value price point to support the massive # of companies that are just at the beginning of their ESG journey.
