Bain & Company Hi All. I am an Energy Engineer and 3 years of experience. I want to switch to a management consultancy because I think I would be a good fit for strategy consulting and want to move into ESG/Climate Financing. I would love to interview with your team if you’re looking to hire someone with this background (happy to share more via DMs).
The purpose of this post is to also ask for referrals so please let me know if I could reach out to you for that. TIA! McKinsey & Company Bain & Company Boston Consulting Group

Hello! Well, maybe you could get involved in a sustainability related project with colleagues with a specific background, if you have management and communication knowledge that is always well appreciated. In that way and with the right people you could learn a lot about sustainability and decide in what you're interested the most :)
Which of these is the most interesting for you?
1. Private sector (Think Tanks/Foundations/Corporates/VCs)
2. Public sector (City level council, political party, international organizations)
3. Nonprofit (NGOs, membership-based advocacy groups)
Suggestion:
1. Check LinkedIn for senior roles in the fields that interest you (job ads and actual profiles)
2. Create a set of criteria that you can use to make a comparison of the outcome of step 1. These could be lifestyle and career related criteria that you value today and expectedly in the future.
3. Backcast career trajectories based on your preferred roles and set up milestones to get on track. Keep in mind that many paths lead to Rome (career trajectories overlap).
4. Repeat.
Btw: I only have 2 YOE, but this is my approach.
