Why do I always do my best thinking five minutes after the meeting ends? Suddenly I have all the ideas, clever comebacks, actual solutions. Too late now. I will just save it for the next one and forget all over again.

That's funny, I am very much this way, too! I started writing down those last minute thoughts so I could use them in the next meeting, but half the time I forget the direction of my train of thought when I initially wrote them down anyway. Maybe try sending a post-meeting email with the ideas?

Post-meeting emails help, but sometimes I second guess if it’s even worth sending.

I’m the exact same ! Or as soon as I have a good idea someone else also gets the same idea and says it just before me

Story of my life. I hesitate for one second and boom—someone else jumps in with the same idea.

Honestly, I think my brain just needs a cooldown period like a slow laptop. The meeting ends, the pressure lifts, and bam - I'm suddenly a genius. Shame I never remember by next week.

Greetings from Madison, Wisconsin. I'm a reporter with more than 32 years of experience and I feel that, lately, local television news has been kind of dead, but I am pleased to fight for it from my local newspaper. Locals love to see someone from their own town succeeding or finding out something inspiring.

I am a firm believer that this will not change for a long time, local TV will continue to live as long as we stand for it.
