On the news, there was a report that "stress" causes negative health effects. Um. OK. Don't people feel "stress" just by being alive? Like, what would be the control group that you could measure the results against? I don't know why, but it always makes me wonder

I'm not a medical professional and I'm not sure what report you are referring to, but yeah some amount of stress is normal for all humans. It's one of our body's way to communicate its condition, but there is such a thing as too much stress and that can lead to negative health conditions over a long period of time

There are different degrees of stress. Even kids feel stressed out sometimes, but that doesn't compare to the stress of, say, someone in an active war zone. I'm sure the report is based on some scientific research where they explain their methodology

Can you link the report? Maybe we can see what kind of stress they're talking about and how they draw the comparison

I guess a group of people who have everything in their life in order. The real study should be about how they do it, I need their secrets lol.

A lot of the dogs I see for digestive issues turn out to have food allergies. People would be doing themselves (and their pets) a real favor if they just kept track of what their dogs were eating, it’d narrow down the foods for allergy testing

It’s in the middle of the night so the perfect opportunity to share my story. I was diagnosed with MSH6 Lynch Syndrome in 2017. In order to be proactive I decided to get a full hysterectomy 3 years ago. Because of this I was forced into surgical menopause. I started on Estradiol patches for awhile then moved to a topical cream now am on the pills. Initially Premarin but due to increasing prices I’m back on Estradiol. I don’t sleep very well, still get hot flashes, and experience highs & lows.

Litigation/Insurance Defense - how has the ability of attorneys meeting hours at your firm changed since COVID? Without driving to Court across the state we seem to have billable hour issues - but partners claim they have a lot of work sitting and not getting done and need more associates. Is it efficiency issues in actually billing for the time you spend at work as much as possible? Focus? Something else? We aren’t really working remotely.

I would love to drop my full time employment and work as a “full time” per diem nurse making my own schedule. I’m not married, so my biggest issue obviously becomes health insurance. Looking for some advice/recommendations from anyone who has been in the same boat and how you navigated this scenario? Tell me your craziest experience working with a TV network. Here comes mine:

I'm American, but my family is mostly Colombian. I was told my aunt and cousins would come here for 2 weeks. I discovered they were going to be paid to appear in a famous Hispanic TV show, where a "judge" receives a case, hears the plaintiffs and defendants and renders a verdict. But of course, it's all fake and payed 😂 turns out she wanted me to go there (even though I don't work for that TV network) so she's sure she'll be paid at the end of the show. Wth did I just do.

Should I apply for two jobs at the same publication?

A prestigious outlet has openings for both a news writer and a news editor. The editorial position has crappy hours, but so it goes.

I meet the qualifications for both jobs. At first I had thought of only applying to be the editor, but then again, the regular staff writer position might also help my career in the long run, since I'm currently a bigger fish in a smaller pond.

Would I hurt my chances at one by applying to both?

Thanks!
