I have received an offer from PA Consulting , which I think will speed up my development by around 2 years, compared to staying where I am. (More diverse role, exposure, not just focused on one platform/product for which I currently am). In addition, the offer is also a large increase in package. I have only been at my current company for 6 months, however I would like to take the offer, how do I approach this?

I’ve put myself up for L4 promo this cycle. Assuming I get it, what would be the best next steps to optimize for long-term growth/TC?
My understanding is that L5->L6 is extremely painful at Google. It may be easier to leave for a handful of years and gain managerial experience before returning.
L4->L5 is less challenging; however, I’m under the impression I can do this quicker at another company (if I leave after being freshly promo’d) AND get higher TC.

Try being in your 50’s! I have 30+ years of event marketing and management experience. I’ve had my resume professionally tailored /optimized for the search engines and still don’t ever get a response. I think I’ve had maybe 2 interviews in the last 3 or so years of looking (Linked in Open to Work too). I just applied to one role that I honestly don’t even want because of the industry it’s in but the job description was literally exactly what I have been doing for the last 5 years, using specific project / event management tools they asked for and they even listed my salary range. I applied as a test to see if I get a bite… but it’s been crickets 🤦🏻♀️ I’ve never experienced this before in my career. It used to be that I would get interviews for almost every job I applied for.
Not anymore.
I have no idea. I'm in the same boat as you. Part of it is the job market, a lot of it - for email specifically - has to be because of AI. The WYSIWYG editors make it easy for anyone to create a reasonably clean looking email. Doesn't matter if their deliverability is trash because there's no segmenting or sunsetting automations in place, but hey, who cares about trivial stuff like that right?
In this job market, it feels hard to land a job, period. I’m in my late 30s and have been looking for a new role for over eight months. I honestly think it’s the state of the market affecting our ability to find jobs more than anything else. I’d suggest having your resume professionally optimized if you haven’t already—that’s one thing that’s really helped me.
I’m in my late 30s and have been looking for 5 months. I’ve been talking to recruiters & they’re all saying demand has dropped.
