Why does nobody point out the hypocrisy of Democrats nominating Garland and now being against the nomination of a Justice in an election year?

Scalia died in February - a full 9 months before the elections. RBG died just 45 days away from elections.

Also it was the same republicans who wanted to wait for the new president to nominate the new justice in 2016. So you should ask them to be consistent with that playbook now.

like

OP it’s hypocrisy.

like

Because they blocked Obama’s nominee.

like

February vs September. Election is November. Get it?

like

8 months vs. 40 days.

More importantly - it’s the precedent that was set by Mitch McConnell who ‘by principle’ blocked garland for 8 months because it should be the people that decide who their Supreme Court is.

like

Because that's not the hypocrisy.

like

OP - do you have any gay friends? Honest question. Ask them what this means to them. Life is not just about your taxes. Have some empathy

like

Didn’t Trump administration ban transgenders from serving in the military? Didn’t he revert the Civil Rights Act that extended to trans? Weren’t republicans against gay marriage? Yeah they don’t hate the gays they just don’t think you deserve the same rights as heterosexuals

OP’s post is such a grand example of cherry-picking based strictly on what side you’re on, not actual objective logic.

like

Speaking of cherry picking, boys, I don’t know who’s doing that better than Democrats.

So now we have a Schwabite join the ranks of the #poorlyeducated too. #DumpTrump

like

If garland got through, dems would have no defense right now. THAT'S the point.

like

240 days for the Senate to vet, discuss, bring in Garland to testify, and hold a vote . Compare that to doing all that in 40 days. In summary, It is not the same situation in the slightest.

Bridge between Customer Support and Product Design?

Hiya! I am in the final round of interviews at an EdTech platform for a role that is the bridge between the Customer Support and UX/Product Design teams. I act as that bridge in my current role but on a more informal basis because it is a smaller company.

Would anyone be willing to share their perspective (positive or negative) on the Product/UX end of this relationship? I want to make sure to ask the right questions.
Thank you!

Trump has remained committed to ending endless foreign wars during his administration. He has struck a historic peace deal between the UAE and Israel which barely got any coverage. He has eased tensions between North Korea. The left’s narrative in 2016 was all about how Trump would trigger wars around the world. Satisfying to see how wrong they were.

I honestly struggle with the politics of Afghanistan. It does appear that after 20 years we leave and within months it goes back to very similar or on its way. It’s not the US job to be the world police we did try to build coalitions and fail at the end of the day unless we’re willing to keep troops there forever which most Americans don’t want to I am not sure what the right thing to do is. And I’m sick of criticism just for the sake of the president. I don’t think there’s a perfect solution

Thought - In the Georgia runoff elections, the best use of Democrat money would be to run ads which seem to have a conservative bent and play up the election fraud conspiracies, claiming the election system is broken and can’t be trusted. Maybe even offer up a way to grieve their frustrations with the system (that isn’t voting obviously). Would be so effing perfect if Rs lost the senate because trump cast doubt on election integrity.
