When do you think associates are usually let go in small practice groups that are currently being overwhelmed with work? Is it when it starts to slows down or when they already have a candidate to replace you? Just trying to figure out how long I have after annoying a partner 😂.

I was floored by this (ignoring that maybe looters were interested in resale value, perhaps). Such clear racism. None of the other partners even attempted to call this partner out. Call went silent for moment before another partner changed subject. Nobody in practice group AA.

Do you have any tips for managing up? I’m a midlevel. Often times partners are sitting on the docs before they confirm sign off or provide comments. This is sometimes a problem when clients want to close asap (they send chasers, etc).

Hi. What do you do with a gaslighting boss and coworker in a small office? I also don’t feel like my boss even cares about me. Examples- there was a man with a gun in parking lot that I had to flee from and call police, he didn’t care- just asked me when I was coming back to work.😳 zero compassion. didn’t care I had a blinking light above my desk, waited two months to fix it though my eye was twitching! Using the phrase “don’t be a pu**y” in the workplace? — I just started at a tech start-up company, coming from a large corporate accounting firm. My new company has a huge table where they gather to eat lunch together (company paid lunches every day) and my desk is nearby. The other day I heard two male coworkers talking and one said the phrase “don’t be a pu**y”. I know cursing in the workplace isn’t technically against the law, but thoughts on words like that?? I was taken aback.

I know this happens a lot but I still get mildly annoyed when a senior tries to make revisions to your work that don’t actually make sense and the partner eventually just reverts to your original language/wording. I’m a senior myself and I remind myself constantly not to mark something up for the sake of marking something up.
